Agentic Starter Kit

The Starter Kit is a pair of specialized agent skills I designed to help me (and now you!) build out workflows, agents, and other artifacts to support specific projects. More importantly, they help me understand my own needs better in the first place, and to design the minimum necessary solution that will… actually meet them. Incredible, no?

These skills came out of my own early frustrations: the first few times I experimented with AI workflows, I found that I was too quick to assume I knew what needed to be built and to jump right into implementation. This resulted in me wasting a lot of time building things that were good in theory (“look, it’s a scrum master agent!”), but didn’t actually solve .

I created this agent skill pair to try to prevent this trap in the future. The idea is to focus on detailed task description and needs assessment first and foremost. Once the needs are well understood and clearly documented, only then move on to designing a minimal solution to meet them.

The Pair

  • Skill-Builder: Interviews you about the problem you’re trying to solve, your needs and preferences, and produces a Session Brief that documents the situation, constraints, patterns, and proposed solution direction.
  • Solution-Builder: Takes the Session Brief from Skill-Builder and implements the simplest effective artifact you can adopt immediately. This might be a single prompt, a checklist, a reusable template, or a workflow, or might be as simple as “just do [X] instead”.

Try it, won’t you?
